Development Regulations and Cottage Architectural Controls
Cottage Architectural Controls
- All building plans to be approved by appropriate committee.
- Maximum height of building to be 28 feet.
- Side yard allowance to be a minimum of 15 feet from boundary (lot line).
- Building face (facing lake) to be cedar siding, stone, brick or glazing.
- Front yard allowance not necessary, but patio or deck cannot extend beyond front property line.
- Clearing in front of cottage is permitted on Crown Reserve to width of cottage to lake.
- Roofing to be tile, shakes or shingles, or bituminous shingles. No rolled roofing or sheet metal permitted.
- Only one cottage permitted per lot.
- No pit privies or outhouses permitted. Septic fields not allowed. Holding tanks only for sewage and grey water.
- Building size minimum of 1200 sq. ft. on lake front and 600 sq. ft. for wilderness lots.
- No mobile homes are permitted.
These building controls may vary slightly from time to time as building committee decides.
Development Regulations
- Vehicular speed in the development shall be kept at a maximum of 30 km/h.
- The use of noise-making machinery is not permitted on Sundays during the months of June, July, and August with the exception of cottage construction purposes.
- During the winter season, when hiking trails are groomed for cross-country skiing, power toboggans are prohibited on those trails.
- Unit holders 50-63 shall keep their power boats and sailboats moored at the marina and may not construct any docks. Unit holders 45-49 are allowed on their own personal docks to moor their boats. Unit holders 1-44 may construct retractable docks and boat launches. Non-powered vessels such as canoes and kayaks are allowed on the beach or shoreline.
- Jet skis are prohibited.
- Dogs are to be kept on a leash on beaches and dog owners are responsible for pet waste cleanup.
- From April 1 to November 15 open fires are only permitted in approved containers. Open fires must be supervised at all times.
- No herbicides are to be used on beach vegetation.
- Importation of sod, vegetation, or soil is prohibited.
